I have this board, and i have installed Windows XP Nlited version several times. It works fine without any problem.
The BSOD that you have, indicates that the driver was not loaded properly.
So i will advise you to do it again, follow the instructions from the website below.
The F6 driver for this board is on the link below:
Website for 32 bits Windows: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/T8Clearance.aspx?Type=&agr=Y&ProductID=2933&DwnldID=15251&url=/15251/eng/STOR_all32_f6flpy32_188.8.131.527_PV.zip&PrdMap=&strOSs=44&OSFullName=Windows*XP Professional&lang=eng
Website for 64 bits windows: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/T8Clearance.aspx?Type=&agr=Y&ProductID=2933&DwnldID=15251&url=/15251/eng/STOR_all64_f6flpy64_184.108.40.2067_PV.zip&PrdMap=&strOSs=44&OSFullName=Windows*XP Professional&lang=eng
It worked fine for me. If it still fails, try another Windows CD. I know OEM version sometimes does not work.
Hope this helps a bit.
I have to admit that I'm an idiot. I was loading the wrong drivers (AHCI instaed of RAID). I used the usb floppy to load drivers using the "F6" method and everything is ok.
So, if there is anybody else that is having the same problem that I had, you have to load the Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO SATA RAID Controller drivers!!!!!
Anyway I am glad your problem is fixed now. I did not mention which driver you should load because I was assuming that you were using the right driver.
I was sure that the system must work in RAID Mode because I did install Windows XP several times on the system.
Usually, what i used to advise regading the F6 driver:
Identify your board first
Identify your Chipset of the Board ICHXR
Set Drive configuration AHCI/RAID
Download the F6 Driver
There is a file called textsetup.oem
Open this file with a notepad
Make sure to identify the right driver example: "Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO SATA RAID Controller"
Hope this helps in the future.
