Need some advice regarding a BIOS password

    Pat Peart

      Hi All

new here, I have purchased an old Compusys desktop running Windows XP Pro, nothing wrong with the pc got all the drivers updated, new PSU, more memory,  however I want to add a bigger hard drive, after hitting F2 to get into the BIOS it asks for a password, whilst changing the PSU I took the CMOS battery out thinking that would solve the problem but it didn't maybe I didn't leave the battery out for long enough, but it did cause problems with the time and date and browsing on the internet so am loathe to take the battery out again.

      the specs are:

      manufacturer - Intel Corporation

      Model - D945GTP   Chipset - Intel - i945P/PL/G/G2 - Rev - A2   Southbridge - Intel - 82801GB - (CICH7/R) - REV - A1

      LPC10 - SMSC - LPC47M182

BIOS  Brand - Intel Corp   Version - NT94510J.86A.3933.206.0630.1408.

Does anyone know how I can remove this password? I know there are backdoor passwords but can't find any.

      Many thanks
