I have checked in the Technical Product Specification of the board itself. There is no TPM on this board. Even in the bios, there is no option to enable TPM in the Security Menu. As far as I know, all AMT boards have TPM option in the BIOS. The DX58SO is not an AMT board.
Now regarding the purple "*", i will need to find out later. I know what you mean, i will look for more information later and let you know.

I wonder if Intel is thinking of a hardware encryption solution instead of a software like BitLocker.
