That's weird. My issues with the Marvell controller have been resolved *since* this BIOS update. Did you try resetting the BIOS to default settings after the update? Completely powering off the PC and then turning it back on? Are the latest Marvell controller drivers installed? What version of Windows are you running? I'm running Windows 8.
The BIOS version that fixed issue where drive icon for Marvell* controller is missing is the version 0063.
You would need to do a BIOS recovery in order to install this version.
