Don't "run/open" the file when you download it from the web. Instead, save it to your hard disk, extract it, and then run it.
This exact error has happened to me twice, once on 0039 and once on 0040, both times when I chose to open the file instead of first saving it.
I already run after saving the file to the disk and got the error message..
Can you try using the F7 update method instead and see what happens? Use this BIOS file: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/22638/eng/GK0040.BIO
Instructions for this update method are here: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-030144.htm
Let me know if you still get the same error.
i bought an DH61BE board to use it with an Pentium G2130 CPU.
The Systems runs well, but i wanted to update BIOS to latest version (0113) and get stuck with the same error message. If i try to update from pen drive with F7 and the BIO-File, i get the message "Capsule header invalid. System will reset ..."
After that i re-formatted the pen drive and downloaded the file again, the same error appears.
I also tried to use the next older version, also with the same error.
Can anybody give me a hint to solve that? Thanks in advance!
Board revision is AAG14062-211
Current version of BIOS is BEH6110H.86A.0044.2012.0531.1710
Kind regards from Germany!
Your board had an 'interim' BIOS that first needs to be applied before you can get to the latest version 0113. Here are the notes about that:
If your system’s current BIOS version is 0048 or earlier, you must first update to version 0099 before updating to 0109 or later. BIOS version 0099 added support for Microsoft Windows 8*.
So, you will first need to update to 0099 and then you can go to 0113. Make sense?
