This is totally normal, all the lights goes on and then one by one goes off in a series, it is supposed to work in that way.
Below you can read a brief description of how it works:
The VR status LEDs provide a real-time indication of how many processor VR phases are active. During normal system operation the power requirements of the processor can vary due to its power saving features. When the processor is in a low-power or idle state it requires less power to be provided by the VR. The VR responds to the lower power demand by shutting down unneeded phases thereby increasing overall power efficiency. Each VR phase has an LED connected to it that indicates when that phase is active.
On my DZ77BH-55K the Voltage Regulator (VR) Status LEDs flash all on, then all off then all on and then all off, and have no video. Any ideas as to what that means if the Voltage Keeps flashing like that?
Since we don’t know which device is causing this behavior, these are my recommendation:
- Please proceed to test the motherboard with minimal configuration but out of the chassis to discard any grounding issue. (Motherboard, processor, power supply). No memory, no video card, no hard drives.Since we do not have memory installed, you are going to heard 3 beeps.
- Place 1 memory stick on DIMM #1. There should be no beeps and if you press F2, you should be able to go to the BIOS.

- If you went to the BIOS please, shut down the system, add another stick of memory and the hard drive where the operating system was install.
**While performing this troubleshooting check if the light is on or not.**
