Hi,
I have a notebook with i7-2640m inside running windows 8 Pro. For some reason Intel Processor Identification Utility is telling me that Virtualization Technology is not working even though I activated it in the the bios and the chip is supposed to support that technology as far as I know.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix that?

Hello Marc bob,
Based on your processors specifications it does support Virtualization, now have you contacted the manufacturer of your laptop? If so, what recommendations did they give you?
Also, please post a picture of the Intel® processor identification utility specifically when it's stating that this technology is not working.
Our recommendations for troubleshooting will be:
- Re -Enable the feature in the BIOS
- Try to do a cold boot after the feature is enable
- Check if there is a BIOS update for your laptop.
- Enable Hyper-V in Windows, you need to open the Control Panel >select the programs link>programs and features> click turn Windows features on or off>check Hyper-V and click ok.
