Intel HD 4000 DVI connection on windows 8: screen flashes

Hello,

I have just made a major upgrade to my computer and I have the following problem:

Every now and then, the screen goes blank for 1-2 seconds and then goes back to normal.

I have windows 8 pro upgrade installed and tried both the motherboard's vga drivers (V 9.17.10.2884) and Intel's latest drivers (9.17.10.2932) but the problem persists.

The previous vga was a SAPPHIRE RADEON HD 4850 512GB, the drivers were fully uninstalled.

Configuration:

Motherboard: ASUS P8B75M-LE

CPU: Intel i3-3225 with HD 4000 enabled

RAM: 2x4GB 1600Mhz Kingston KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX (stated as compatible from ASUS for this motherboard)

PSU: 500W Chieftec

Monitor: LG 21.5' on DVI (1680x1050)

OS: Windows 8 64bit

Hi Eugene,

If the SAPPHIRE HD 4850 graphics card is compatible with Windows 8 you can test it to see if you get the same issue or not.

If the issue persists you can try another cable or monitor if available.

You can run a test to the processor using the following utility which will stress the features of the processor to see if those are working fine or not http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-031726.htm http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-031726.htm

Another troubleshooting step you can perform is updating the BIOS of the motherboard. You can find BIOS updates in the following link http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/P8B75M_LE/# support_Download http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/P8B75M_LE/# support_Download

Thanks!

Hello,

Been there, done that!

I have already installed the latest bios update firmware and run the test processor program with success.

Also, I have installed the 4850 card and the problem went away!

But I will not use the 4850 in this system so I cannot continue like that.

Cable and monitor are not an issue, as well.

Hi Eugene,

I recommend contacting the motherboard manufacturer in order to check if the issue is being caused by the video ports on the motherboard or not. You can use the following link http://support.asus.com/contactus.aspx http://support.asus.com/contactus.aspx

Thanks!
