Let's it's only a matter of personnal curiosity because all is working fine,I have a PB laptop connected wirelessly and sometimes the acer 9920 of my daughter or some old acer laptop of my son,the network works fine for all computers (each pc can share files with any of the others),just wondering about that event.

I tried the TCP/IP stack repair options for vista    as advised on another forum http://forums.techguy.org/networking/815351-token-ring-cable-disconnected.html

      no joy

      Anyone got an idea?
