Intel BIOS'es - when upgrades will work!?

    young2

Recently I bought the DQ77KB and encountered like other people a strange problem:

      DZ77GA-70K - Bios update failure

      http://communities.intel.com/thread/31261

DQ77KB - Bios update fails - error: FwUpdateFullBuffer

      http://communities.intel.com/thread/33240

In my case I was able to update default for my DQ77KB BIOS version (38) to latest 46.

After that when released the latest 48, update 46 to 48 always fails:

Flashing image for Intel(R) Management Engine firmware ... FW Update Sample Application ERROR FwUpdateFullBuffer

      [failed!]

      Flash update failed!

      Technical information: (0x8000000000000015, 1550)

      The same error during downgrade 46 > 45 (46 > 44). Success with downgrade 46 > 43

Now I stuck with 43, and can't upgrade to 44,45,48 (AFAIR the same error FwUpdateFullBuffer).

I can downgrade 43 to 38, but from 38 to 48 not. It seems that now I can only upgrade/downgrade between versions 38-43

Therefore I would like to ask:

      1) why I can't upgrade 46 > 48, 43 > 44 (or 43 > 48, even 38 > 48)

      2) what FwUpdateFullBuffer ERROR mean (whether this is due to the growing size of the BIO file?)
