Mass Effect 3 HD3000 performance significantly worse in Windows 8

Hello,

I recently upgraded to Windows 8 64-bit on my Thinkpad X220 (i5-2520m, 8GB ram, intel HD 3000 graphics) and I have noticed that in multiplayer for this game, the FPS is often below 30. I am currently running the game in a measly 960x640 resolution. I have tried driver versions 2843, 2867, 2875, 2932 for this graphics chipset and none of these have improved performance noticeably.

On Windows 7, I was able to run the game at higher resolutions (1280x720 or 1366x768) and had similar or better performance compared to what I experience now (dropping down to 960x640 would have significantly better performance in comparison to the same resolution on windows 8).

Any idea how this can be fixed? Thanks.

Hi arthast,

Mass Effect 3 does not appear on the playability list for this graphics controller

I will forward this information to our engineering department; in the meantime, I will need the graphics report for the latest graphics driver version 2932.

Thanks

Allan
