I purchased a new Dell XPS 12 Convertible Ultrabook running the latest WiDi drivers and Windows 8. I was unable to get Widi working with the Netgear PTV3000. Per Netgear's website, support for Windows 8 is "coming soon." I've recently been in contact with their tech support pushing to see when the firmware will finally be available and eventually received the following answer
"Regarding the concern, please note that the actual update has to come from Intel. We will only patch that up with our software to make the device work. We do not have any updates regarding the release of the particular update."
I've asked them to provide specifics on what they are waiting for from Intel (no response yet). Can Intel respond? Is this a Netgear or Intel issue?
I recently updated to the new version of firmware on the PTV3000 here is what Netgear says it supports:

I have a fresh install of Windows 8 and there is no WiFi Driver V15.3.50 to be found anywhere.
The net of this is that you can see the PTV3000 but you cannot connect.
I have all the latest Intel Software Intel Wireless Display V184.108.40.206 and WiFi Driver 220.127.116.11 and the Latest Pro/Set that installed that driver.
I have been playing with this since October and I am willing to purchase any device that will work with this configuration. I haven't found anything yet.
I bought the XPS12 as well and got hold of a PVT1000 that pretty much had the same issue too.
I have since found the following combination of drivers and WiDi software works.
Version 18.104.22.168 for the Intel WiDi software
Driver version 22.214.171.124 for the Intel Centrino Advanced N6235 Wireless Adapter
When connected the PVT1000 decided to upgrade to 126.96.36.199
I have tried to stick to the OEM driver versions but they don't seem to work, and the windows 7 drivers that people have been talking about leads to compatibility issues for install or DLL not found issues when starting the WiDi software.
Have you had any luck with this since?
