      Hi,

I use an Intel Processor and Motherboard with the following details retrieved through Belarc advisor (www.belarc.com).

      Processor

      2.80 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
      8 kilobyte primary memory cache
      512 kilobyte secondary memory cache

      Main Circuit Board

      Board: Intel Corporation D865GBF AAC25827-406
      Serial Number: ABBF40321361
      Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
      BIOS: Intel Corp. BF86510A.86A.0077.P25.0508040031 08/04/2005

      Memory Modules

      1008 Megabytes Installed Memory

      Slot 'J6G1' has 512 MB
      Slot 'J6G2' is Empty
      Slot 'J6H1' has 512 MB
      Slot 'J6H2' is Empty

      Drives

      ST380011A [Hard drive] (80.03 GB) -- drive 0, s/n 5JVN9EYS, rev 8.01, SMART Status: Healthy
      ST380021A [Hard drive] (80.03 GB) -- drive 1, s/n 3HV2AZ1B, rev 3.19, SMART Status: Healthy
      ST3808110AS [Hard drive] (80.03 GB) -- drive 2, s/n 5LR08M85, rev  2AAA, SMART Status: Healthy

SONY DVD RW DRU-830A [CD-ROM drive]
3.5" format removeable media [Floppy drive]

However, in the BIOS the specifications are listed as:

      System Bus Speed: 800Hz

      System Memory Speed: 320 MHz

      L2 Cache: 512KB

      Total Memory: 1024MB

      Memory Mode: Dual CHannel

      Channel A Slot 0: 512MB (400MHz)

Channel A Slot 1: Not Installed

      Channel B Slot 0: 512MB (400MHz)

Channel B Slot 1: Not Installed

      My questions are:

      1. My BIOS (Intel Desktop Blue Screen) used take approx. 5 secs before the OS (Win XP) used to boot. From the last couple of weeks, it takes atleast 30 sec before the OS boots. I cannot figure out what the problem is.
      2. Through I am using two 400MHz Mem modules, I am only getting 320MHz for Mem speed.
      3. Although I have a board that is supposed to run at 800Mhz FSB, the Belarc advisor tool tells me it is running only at 200Mz.

Please advise me what I should do?

      Mahesh Kumar
