    Q77 USB problem ??

    Philippe Annet

      I've upgraded a Lecroy oscilloscope with a Q77 board from BCM (RX77Q).

The scope's frontpanel PCB is connected to the system via USB (the onboard USB header). But the board is no longer recognized, W7 says the device has encountered a problem and driver install fails, what remains is an unknown device in the device manager.

With a Kontron Q45 board, the board work fine, with XP and W7 (x86), the same image (adapted) with the Q77 board has the problem, just as a fresh install of W7...

My fear is that the Q77 is no longer compatible with 'old´ USB stuff (that may behave in a not 100% compliant manner), and the latest Q77 errata from Intel points out quite some issues with USB...

I've been through all the typical Windows tips and tricks for the USB "unknown device" problem, this is NOT the point here !!! There is definitely a problem in the initial handshaking between the Q77 and the frontpanel PCB...

      Any hints, ideas ??????
