Brightness drops to 10% after upgrading to W8 (Intel HD 3000)

Hi, I recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 8. The day after the brightness suddenly dropped to 10%.

After adjusting the slider back up, the brightness immediately drops to 10% again. With some luck the brightness may not drop back down to 10% for a few minutes. But usually it's a matter of seconds (or even immediately).

Windows says the Intel HD 3000 drivers are all up to date.

The problem occurs on different networks (at university, at home,...)

Is there a solution to this problem??

Hello Stefaan Leleu,

I recommend you get the latest graphics driver at the link below:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22083&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%208%2C%2064-bit*&DownloadType=%0A%09%09%09%09%09%09%09Drivers%0A%09%09%09%09%09%09

Bear in mind our Intel graphics drivers are generics, so if the issue continues then try the graphics driver from your system manufacturer, or you might have to do a clean installation of Microsoft* Windows* 8, instead of an upgrade.

Ragards,

Michael
