No 5.1 through HDMI to receiver

Hi,

I recently bought a i3-3225 with HD4000 GPU and a mb (GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3H) with a B75 chipset on it.

When connecting to HDMI (only for audio) to my receiver I keep getting just a stereo signal (not the 5.1 I would like).

I tried looking in the audio setting, installed latest drivers etc. but nothing seems to help?

Is this a limitation of the GPU ? Chipset? HDMI? (Receiver accepts HDMI 1.4)

The OS I'm using is Win8 x64

Any help would be appreciated !

Hi mturuta,

What receive are you connecting to? I know the ONKYO ones have needed firmware updates from the OEM before they had full HDMI functionality.

Also, can you provide your dxdiag for review? (Start -> Run -> dxdiag -> Save All Information).
