If you are under Windows 7 make sure you are loading USB 3.0 driver version 220.127.116.11. I do not have known issues reported with that specific driver version.
For Windows, bear in mind that USB3.0 drivers are included on the Windows* package as part of the operating system.
I have a different kind of problem.
The onboard USB 3 ports on my Intel motherboard - DH77EB function just fine. The problem arises when I connect front panel header to add 2 more accessible USB 3 ports to my system. These don't work but even the previously working ports stop functioning.
BTW I am working with Win 7 x64 with all the latest updates installed. Another thing I would like to point out that when I tried installing this version of Win 7 x64 SP1 from a Zalman VE-300 external drive configured as a "USB 3.0 connected optical drive" windows threw up an error message that it was not supported. When I reverted to the USB 2,0 port and micro usb 2.0 on the Zalman VE-300 external drive installation was fast and went through without a hitch.
