HD4000 Driver won't save settings or use profile

Hi everyone,

Windows update has just updated my HD4000 graphics driver to the newest version, 9.17.10.2867. I've created a profile with specialized color settings, but each time the computer starts or the monitor resumes from sleep, the driver automatically reverts to default settings. I have to manually activate the profile each time. I've also noted that the "YCbCr" setting doesn't seem to get saved with the profile I created, since each time I manually activate the profile, the YCbCr setting always reverts to off.

I never had any of these problems with the older graphic driver. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Curt

Don't worry. I uninstalled the new driver and reinstalled the older one. Works flawlessly again!

Hi there Nic,

Unfortunately, even after switching back to the previous driver, I'm still having the same problem

So, here's some information about my setup:

i7-3770

ASRock Z77 Professional mainboard

16GB 1600Mhz

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Thanks,

Curt

Thanks for the information. You may need to upgrade/update your BIOS. Check here and ensure you're using the latest version; http://www.asrock.com/support/download.asp?Keyword=Z77&Type=&Socket= Download Files form ASRock Inc.

Let me know if an update corrected the problem, or if you are still having the issue afterwards.

Thanks,

-Nic

Well, took your advice and upgraded the BIOS. So far, so good. I've restarted and suspended the PC several times, and the correct color profile gets applied on each occasion. Seems to be working. Thanks!

Curt

Got some bad news. After getting this morning and resuming the PC, the same old problem came back and I ended up having to manually restore the default profile. Seems like upgrading the BIOS hasn't helped.

Hi Curt, totally thought we had it with that! Are you running a multi-monitor setup?

Thanks,

Actually I am. Both my monitor and SONY TV are hooked up the motherboard - the monitor is the main display, the SONY is only used for watching films.

Curt, is this still an issue for you?

@Vitaliy & Kulgan, can you post dxdiag's for your systems? (Start -> Run -> dxdiag -> Save All Information -> Attach here!)

Yes, this is still happening. Just got home and woke the PC out of sleep, and as usual, had to start the graphic utility to re-select the YCbCr setting. Without this setting, the colors look all washed out and faded, so I really can't work without it.

You'll have to choose the option on the text box for "Advanced Editor" to see the "attach" option.

Tested in three browsers, the "attach" button is missing in Advanced mode too.

Sorry for the delayed response. Instead of attaching your dxdiag, just copy and paste the text into the box and submit .

Thanks for providing that information. Unfortunately I've been recently informed that the current state of persistent YCbCr settings is not something that currently exists. Simply put, it is expected behavior. However, it has been brought up to the developers attention, and will quite possibly have a fix in the future with an updated driver. I will respond back here though when that happens.

Thanks,

-Nic
