I'm attempting to install the latest HD graphics driver for Vista (32 bit), 15.17.18.2555 (also known at 8.15.10.2555). I have a Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Family Chipset which, according to all the Intel support and auto-detect features, is compatible with this driver. Every time I attempt to install the driver -- through the .exe, through the .zip's Setup file, through either the "have disk" install or manual installation options, or through the auto-update feature from the control panel, it refuses to install. The error reports are incredibly vague -- literally just "an error occurred" when installing manually or through the auto-update feature or, with the .exe or .zip's Setup file, "an error occurred while registering one or more components."
Any ideas?

Hi Joseph Thomas,
Is this for a laptop or a desktop? Can you provide the make/model?
Thanks,

Nic-
It's a G60-230US Notebook PC. Eventually this got resolved simply by restarting in safe mode, at which point drivers installed just fine. Not sure why I didn't think of that several hours earlier.
Thank you,
Joe
