S5520HC + 2*Xeon E5620: heat problem on second CPU

Hi folks,

I've got 3 servers based upon the S5520HC board in a 1U Chenbro case. Each has 2 Xeon E5620 CPUs cooled using Intel's passive he cooler. Problem: On full load with all fans on full speed the second CPU seems to get too much hot air from the first CPU. It gets too hot (>95C) and Linux starts complaining.

Obviously the coolers are not sufficient for this board. What would you suggest?

Regards

Harri

This board is not really designed for 1U chassis... If you need an 1U system, try http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/server/s5520ur S5520UR, http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/server/s5500wb S5500WB or http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/server/s5500bc S5500BC. If you really want to use S5520HC in an 1U chassis, try the one from the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-030487.htm Tested chassis list.
