Trouble with Intel Rapid Start technology intallation on a laptop.

    Alexander Grushin

      Greetings!

I'm having trouble while installing the Intel Rapid Start technology driver on my recently bought notebook, the vendors' support turned out to be quite useless.

      The hardware:

ASUS UX32VD ultrabook with 24Gb SanDisk i100 SSD, 10Gb RAM (soldered 2Gb + 8Gb SODIMM extension), 500Gb HDD with Windows partitions on it. The SSD is intended for use with ExpressCache and Intel Rapid Start by design. OS Windows 7 64bit.

After purchase I immediately updated all the software and drivers on it, but could not install the Intel Rapid Start driver - I've downloaded the installation package from ASUS official site, version 2.1.0.1002. But launching the setup.exe file just did not do anything, no reaction at all, except a bunch of errors in C:\Intel\Logs\irstrt_wrap.log:

State: Checking if platform is supported.

Information:  PCH LPC ID = 0x1e59

State: Get the current executable location.

State: Moving files to a temporary folder.

      State: Starting setup.

Information: Process exited with code 0x0

      State: Cleaning up.

      ...

and so on. And exactly the same thing happened with the driver downloaded from Intel site. What's more interesting - the previous versions of the Rapid Start driver can be installed, for example version 1.0.0.1014 downloaded from Lenovo site installs fine, but it doesn't work properly, here is the typical Event Viewer record:

Does anyone has any idea where to start with this problem? Unfortunately I cannot reinstall the OS from scratch to see if it works due to huge amount of time I've spent on installing ans customizing all the applications.

      UPD:
I've done everything from this post:
Re: Intel Rapid Start Technology Software/Driver Install Error
but the installation still doesn't work.

      Best regards, Grushin Alexander.
