I would like to know what happens to the data on a SSD that is being used as a caching device in an Intel RST set up with a HDD when you de-celerate the volume and re-set the SSD to available please.
I recently performed this action and I was prompted as to if I wanted to continue with the action as all data on the drive would be lost if did so.
I am asking because my system was infected by a worm recently and I want to secure erase the SSD and HDD but I am not sure if it is necessary to secure erase the SSD if the action of re-setting the SSD to available has already performed a wipe of the drive or I would be interested to know how the process of re-setting the drive works a little better.
No takers for this one?
All I want to know is if re-setting an SSD to available in the Intel RST wipes or formats the drive in any sense or if there is any residual data left on the drive.
