Inspiron 1525 not picking up native TV resolution

Okay. I decided to post a new topic since this is a completely different issue from the first one I posted about.

I have my inspiron 1525 with a GM965 chipset hooked up to my TV through VGA.

After a hastle I finnaly got it to work but now I can't display it in my TV's native resolution (1366x768)

The option doesn't come up. I only have the options for 1024x768, 1280x800, 1280x1024, 1440x900, 1600x1200, 1920x1440

I actually have it running on (1440x990) and its horribly blurry but its the only other option I have.

I can try running it on 1024x768 but....yea... its pretty bad..

1280x800 is unsupported by my tv.

Either way I want to be able to run this on its native resolution so does anyone know what I can do to make it possible?

OS:Windows 8 Professional

PC: Dell Inspiron 1525

GPU: Intel GM965 Chipset'

hi,

I see you are under Windows 8, the problem is that your system is using Microsoft generic drivers, they do not read the monitor's EDID and this is why you are not able to get 1366*768

The only way to get screen resolution is to go back to a supported operating system and get appropriate driver for your computer model.

See the following for more information:
