Intel Raid 5 Detection Method for Possible Hard Drive Failure

I have 3 x 1TB Seagate drives in a RAID 5 setup on a Gigabyte GA-EX58 Extreme motherboard with a Core i7920. Two of the drives are the same model and a different one was added on later to expand the RAID. My computer started to freeze up spontaneously during work in Adobe programs. Installed new 500GB drive and did fresh install. New drive works fine but when I reconnected the old RAID drives I started seeing the RAID rebuilding often. I suspect one of the drives is failing but when viewed through the Intel Matrix Storage Center the disks all say they are normal. I can disconnect the RAID drives and run on just the 500GB but the RAID was there to protect my data. How do I figure out if the RAID is bad or if one of the drives is bad? Is there some sort of tool I can use to detect what the real issue is?
