double check that the RAM is seated properly, just use 1 stick for now, and double check the pins where the CPU sits.
Start the computer with only the CPU and 1 stick of ram installed, unplug everything else/no add in cards (PCI, PCI-e)
Followed Shaun's advice, no change, then installed the suspect i5-3570K and ram in a new Asus mb and got to BIOS on turn on, so the intel DZ77SL-60K is to only thing left. RMAing it.
Followed Shaun's advice. Turned out to be the motherboard, CPU & ram work on an Asus board.
