I just signed up for a Coursera class that teaches programming using CUDA-GPUs so I'm looking for a suitable host. I know it is a long shot, but my Acer notebook says it has Intel 4 Series Chipset display adapter - is that CUDA compatible? If not, then I'm looking to my desktops and buying a card, but all my desktops are PCI and not PCIe, but it seems all GPU cards available for purchase are PCIe. Does anyone know of something available for PCI?
CUDA is a NVIDIA parallel computing architecture build for their video cards, therefore CUDA is not compatible with any of the Intel on-board graphics controllers.
For PCI video card availability, I recommend you contact NVIDIA or the video card manufacturer.
