I understand that you are looking to use a third party cooling solution on the Intel(R) Desktop Board DH67CF.
In regards to your inquire, the Intel(R) Heat Sinks are designed not only to cool down the processor, but to create an airflow on the voltage regulator, using third party cooling solutions may not damage your processor, but may damage the motherboard.
Understood, but this doesn't really help. Having silent fans is a quality criteria for all consumer PCs. Which cooling solution would you recommend for an i3-2120 and the DH67CF or other Intel ITX boards focused on HTPCs?
