Intel Centrino 6235 Bluetooth not detected by windows 7

Dear Intel community,

I have a Samsung Rc530 laptop which officially had an intel centrino n130 wifi+bluetooth card. As I really had to move to 5 GHz I ve decided to change my wifi card to 6235. After changing the cards, the wifi got isntalled automatically and it is working like a charm. For some reason I can not install the bluetooth part, because the windows does not even detect it. I would like to know if there is any solution to make it work as I really miss my bluetooth headset. Im using windows 7 64 bit,

Regards,

Laszlo

    I understand that you changed your wireless card from Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 130 to Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235.

Please note that these network cards are intended to be installed by OEM professional technicians only, Intel does not support the installation or upgrade of the Wifi network cards by end users.

You can confirm this information at the following articles:

    http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-006006.htm

    As per the last article:

“Installing or upgrading the various Intel wireless adapters by end users is not supported by Intel. Contact the manufacturer, vendor, or the source where you obtained your computer regarding availability and support for upgrades of the various Intel wireless adapters.

    Regulatory Information:

Installation or use of the various Intel wireless adapters is subject to country-specific legal regulations. In certain countries, this product can only be installed in systems that have a system level regulatory approval. This approval must be obtained by the manufacturer of the system (OEM/ODM) or the installer of this device. Before installing this device into a system, you must contact the manufacturer of the system, and determine if the product is approved for use in a specific system in a specific country. You are also required to follow the manufacturer's post-approval requirements.

If the manufacturer does not have the necessary approvals, the party installing the device is responsible for those approvals. Installing these adapters in an unauthorized system may be illegal.”

    Dear Mark,

Thanks for your answer, even though it is not really satisfying... If you take a look at my laptop's detailed specs, you may see almost every single part of it comes from Intel. I did not ask if changing my wireless card to a newer one was legal or not, because I know it is, otherwise they would not sell them in the stores... I have even called Samsung customer service where I have been told that connection type of the 2 cards are the same and that I can could change without any problem. So I am asking again, is there any way to fix this missing Bluetooth? Think of my problem as my laptop originally would have come with the 6235 card...

Hey, I've got what sounds like a similar problem with my laptop. It came installed with a Centrino Advanced-N 6230.  I've had it for about 2 weeks, and only now have I tried to use bluetooth. But it's nowhere to be found. It isn't listed under device manager, and when I attempt to install the ProSet drivers, it fails because it says the adapter is unplugged. Normally I would take this as a sign that it was unplugged and break out a screwdriver, but I have Ubuntu installed as well as windows 7, and bluetooth works perfectly inside Ubuntu.

did you try installing the bluetooth driver? please check if this could be of help. Here is a driver link found in Intel site

Hi, i've got the same problem.

Upgraded my Samsung 700z5a from Broadcom to Intel Advanced-N 6235.

Wifi works ok, but there isn't even a bluetooth device in the windows device manager...

Ubuntu seems to find some sort of Wifi and Bluetooth device but crashes with some dmesg message like "iwlagn: Microcode SW error detected."

So I can't even say it's a windows only problem or a hardware problem....

    regards

Dear Mark, your answer is very "politically correct" however is totally useless (as all such the answers).

Let's return to the real world, as Intel 6235anhmw (being installed with the latest drivers for Win7 x64) really has the problem explained by

We bought 10 test notebooks ASUS R501VM (that originally was equipped with AZUREWAVE AW-NB097H) and all ten had the same effect - during the installation BT was discovered by system, however after the reboot BT become invisible and unable.

Service Bluetooth Support Service is started.

The reason for upgrade: WiDi compatibility of new 6235 card.

Please provide this information to the next level of support as "politically correct answers" are not working in this case - it looks like Intel has a problem with this new and potentially very perspective mini-card.

    Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards,

Leonid (I leave out all my IT degrees, certificates and "medals")

    +1

Yeah, same here, I forgot to mention, a friend has the same samsung notebook and we both did the upgrade. He has the same "problem", although he doesn't use bluetooth so he doesn't really care that much...

Does the intel windows driver update some sort of microcode in the card which then disables BT (for whatever reason) ? I don't remember if there was a BT device before, i installed the drivers immediately.

And yes, I contacted my manufacturer Samsung and they just said they don't prevent the user from installing another wifi (but opening the complete casing is not supported anyway for this model).

A similar problem is discussed here

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/samsung/625973-samsung-series-7-chronos-intel-wifi-card.html

The succesor model uses the intel 6235 by the way.

    Dear mashime,

    I probably will surprise you.

Yes, sure we installed the software you mentioned into your post, i.e. "Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth(R)Technology" and when we'd tried to uninstall it, the following message pop-up:

The software removal you are attempting cannot proceed.

To remove this software, please first be sure that the

Intel(R) wireless adapter is correctly installed and enabled.

If the software produced in the way it can't be easily uninstalled - ...

Dear Intel(R) driver programers, I really like your sense of humor, however it seems me that "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark"

Could this message be promoted to the relevant RESPONSIBLE person at Intel(R) please?

Re: PROset wireless bluetooth software installer error please help! intel 6230

maybe this one can help with uninstalling bluetooth drivers again,

    but i haven't tested it yet ...

(but i'd like more to keep the bluetooth drivers and have a working bt adapter )

    Hi,

I've got an Acer Aspire 5315 & have a 6235 installed  and have had a 6230 as well (Long story, ended up with both).  The 6235 wifi & bluetooth is recognized under Windows 8 RC & Vista and openSUSE 12.2 Linux 64-bit.  As I don't have Windows 7, I couldn't test that.  Vista isn't officially supported by Intel on this card (no specific Vista drivers except for Bluetooth), but the 15.1.1 drivers for XP allow the WiFi to work albeit w/o any Intel software.  Bluetooth v2.2 software works fine under Vista.  Is it possible the version of the 6235 you got is a Engineering Sample version (I've heard of those floating around)?  Have you found anyone had your laptop model working with a 6235?  In my case, the Bluetooth is recognized under Linux, but won't connect to the Motorola Droid 3 I have.  It will pair/connect fine under Windows Vista, but neither the 6235 or the 6230 connected under Linux (Paired yes, connected no).  I do notice I have three Bluetooth devices w/o drivers under Vista.

Hope you find a solution.  This card is a great card and when I upgrade to Win8, I hope I can use the Intel software that I'm currently missing under Vista.  If I get a copy of Win7 installed, I'll try the BT part and let you know if it works.

    Hi all,

I´ve got the same problem. WiFi works so far, but bluetooth driver does not work an can not be uninstalled under Win7 home premium 64bit. I upgraded from an Atheros-card to the Intel Centrino 6325, running in an Asus N56VZ, because of WiDi and 5 GHz range.

Intels statement, that network cards may only be installed by OEM-professional technicians is, sorry to say, a bit ridiculous, because they sell these cards! This problem with the bluetooth driver is described manifold in forums, as well here.

I hope Intel can give better anwers or solutions.

    Dear Mark,

Is it reasonable to wait any proper answer (or, at least, how long will it take?) from Intel(R) or it's time to return back

    Intel Centrino 6235

    to the vendor?

Hope to hear you or any really responsible person soon, i.e. at least the next week.

Yeah, let's push this thread again

It may be some sort of hardware issue, because there may be another pin, which enables bluetooth and is controlled by the vendor software (like samsung easy settings, but after changing the wifi card, there's no BT entry anymore)

I found several links, but I had't the time to read everything.

    @Chris:

"Is it possible the version of the 6235 you got is a Engineering Sample version (I've heard of those floating around"

Do you know how to identify if the card is an engineering sample and how they differ from normal cards ? Maybe Mark could help out, too

But Intel could give at least advice how to remove their Bluetooth driver, and to do so, we need to resolve our bluetooth issue

    regards
