I went from version 21 > 37 and ran into the same unsupported CPU message on mine (i5-2500K).
I contacted the Intel Chat support to ask about it. The agent suggested that my BIOS may have been corrupted during installation since I didn't have the memory frequency set to the standard 1333. I didn't know a BIOS upgrade could be corrupted if the memory frequency wasn't set to a non overclocked value.
He recommended that I try installing the 35 BIOS via the recovery method to see if that resolves the issue.
I will try the recommendation and see what happens. I'll let you know what happens.
I can confirm that the issue wasn't a result of a corrupted BIOS. I installed 35 and didn't get the unsupported processor error. Re-installed 37 and the error returned. Installed version 36 and there is still no error. Looks to be an issue with BIOS 37 itself.
I've re-installed my Corsair 16 GB kit of RAM (CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B) to see if the MemTest 86+ errors I was getting were a result of a BIOS problem and not the memory modules themselves. (I have been getting failures in Test 4 & Test 6 for the past week. -Ver 4.20-)

EDIT: It appears the memory errors are not related to the BIOS as I've confirmed that they continue with version 36.
After all the problems with BIOS 35, they just can't get it right. Same here, just updated to BIOS 37 and getting the same error with an i5-2500K. First it can't overclock at all (35), then it doesn't display the right values or overclock properly (36), and now common CPUs are apparently unsupported (37, although working). Who are they hiring to make these "revisions"?
Yesterday I had another issue with BIOS 0037. I changed a setting and pressed F10 to save\restart. The BIOS got stuck and didn't want to reset. After a manual reset my crucial M4 SDD was not detected anymore
I checked all the cables and changed the sata cable to port 1 and then to the marvell controller. After a while the SSD was detected again and everything worked ok...
It seems that sometimes an unexpected power down may do this and the documented workaround from Crucial is to provide power and leave the SSD alone for 20 minutes...
The strange thing was that I left the SSD on sata port 1 and now the "unknown processor screen" is gone.
Didn't check if the screen returns when moving the SSD back to port 0 (did also a couple of back-to-bios resets)
S.O.S.... The same problem
Just updated my bios from 0028 to 0037. I used the BC0037.BIO file and F7 to update the bios. BIOS update was successfully.
My system configuration:
MOTHERBOARD = DZ68BC, version G30742-402
CPU = i7-2600K
MEMORY = 32 Gbyte RAM (Corsair CML16GX3M2A1600C10)
VIDEO = Motherboard
OS = Windows 7 Ultimate x64
• Updated processor support.
=> BUG: Every time the system starts it now displays very shortly a BIOS screen that reports that “an unsupported processor is detected” and all kind of disclaimer text and instructions. The screen says that a key press “Y” to continue is needed but luckily this key press is not needed. BIOS 0028 didn’t display this screen.

Intel seems to be working on BIOS 0038. Hopefully that version solves the problem. Unclear when that update becomes available. Downgrading to 0036 solves this screen issue also, but 0037 has newer CPU opcodes and other fixes. You could try if leaving sata port 0 empty (if that is an option) helps.

I have the same problem with my DZ68BC and i7-2600K. It appeared after I installed BC0037. I just downloaded and installed BC0039.BIO, installation completed successfully, but I still receive the message about the unsupported processor. Here's a screenshot of the full message:
I visited processormatch.intel.com and confirmed that i7-2600K is supported by DZ68BC. I also don't understand the mini-ITX chassis mention in this message - I have an ATX board in an ATX chassis. All fans are functional, and all temperatures are in a healthy range. No overclocking.
My PC appears to be working fine, and a cpu benchmark returned normal results, but I want to make sure everything is working right. Is there a solution in sight?
I have no clue why Intel didn't fix this issue in BIOS 0039. I think that this issue is not easy to reproducible on all DZ68BC boards as I cannot image that that this would pass their QA department. On the other hand if I see what kind of BIOS defects are introduced in newer versions then I sometimes wonder what their QA department is doing.
A BIOS is often build from generic modules and software libraries. It seems that an incorrect if-then-else branch is taken which shows this screen, which may be designed for a different board.
As it seems to be just this message it may be that defect is considered low priority and doesn't get development resources...
The message was gone a couple a months ago on my board suddenly and then was back when I did a "reset to BIOS setting".
The only problem I have seen at this moment is that the F7 (BIOS update screen) option now hangs in this message screen (was working with BIOS 0037)
Based on the fact that this issue has not been reproduced in our demonstration systems and is isolated to certain systems only, our recommendation is checking your different options to replace the board under warranty. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding on this matter.
I am disappointed that this issues cannot be reproduced. It is clearly a defect introduced in 0037 as 0036 was working fine.
As I use the DZ68BC for my work I cannot miss it. Does the warrant procedure allows to first get a replacement board and then send the faulty board back?
Probably just as well that Intel will soon stop making motherboards.
And as for graphics... don't get me started. I would *love* to ditch getting a separate graphics card for mid-range builds, but has anyone ever tried getting a straight answer from Intel on what resolutions are supported? Ha! Always articles says "It depends... contact your manufacturer..." Guess what, I'm building the darned thing! I'd like to know what would be safe to tell people, but nah, not Intel. So I stick a graphics card in from Nvidia or AMD and then I *know* what I can tell people.
