Hey everyone. I bought several components to build my first PC and I bought the Intel Core i5 processor. It didn't work in my system for some reason so I believe it was DOA. I bought it from Newegg. They said I could send it back as long as I had everything it came with. Unfortunately, I'm missing the inner boxing where you store the actual chip! Is there any way Intel could ship me this an old box or just the inner box? I will pay for the shipping. This is just very stressful that I'll be out a lot of money because I lost the inner box. Thanks.

I'm not sure what to do from here. I could send it to them packed up in something else but the person on LiveChat assured me it would be denied if I didn't have that inner cardboard box.
Currently Intel does not sent that type of material, however, what you can do is to contact the local support center at:
and the will assist you to replace the processor directly with Intel, this is as long as the processor shows up on the Intel database as a retail boxed processor, since Intel warranty will not cover Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Tray processors.
You can also open a chat session with Intel support at:
And they will also assist you.
