    Mix PC3-10666 and PC3-10600 in DX58SO motherboard?

    panamavibes

I have an Intel DX58SO motherboard and had been running in triple channel mode with a threesome of OCZ Technology DDR3 1333 MHz memory DIMMS (part nr. OCZ3P1333LV6GK).

So, one of them is damaged as I have confirmed, the other two work fine when I try them in single channel mode (2GB). However, I have been looking around in the local market and I can only find PC3-10600 memories and not the PC3-10666 I have. Haven't been able to find triple packs either, just dual packs.

What can I do now? use my two PC3-10666 with one PC3-10600 ? if so, any special slot arrangement?

The local supplier does have a Super Talent Chrome Series PC3-12800 CAS 9ms in triple channel pack (3x2GB). Would that PC3-12800 CAS 9 be better than my PC3-10666 CAS 7? and can my Intel DX58SO motherboard with i7-920 (2.67GHz) handle that PC3-12800 memory?

If you go to amazon's website (other vendors might also have them) and type "PC3-10666" in the search box you will find that they are available. Note that you should buy in pairs.
