The 2 pin connector is for an audio connection. Should you choose to use a Nvidia DVI to HDMI adapter, you can output sound over the HDMI cable. The other end of the 2 pin cable connects to the SPDIF output of your motherboard or sound card. SPDIF name stands for Sony/Philips Digital Interconnect Format. I don't believe your motherboard has the SPDIF connector. Nvidia no longer uses this connection on current video card models.
