    DH55TC/DH57DD/DQ57TM and Xeon x3430

I am about to recycle one of my old boards to use as a TV-server.

When looking in the compatible processors list of these boards I see that the Xeon x3430 is listed for all of them.

However, I'm not so sure about the memory, since the boards do not support ECC memory, and I had the impression that the Xeons actually require ECC.

Has anyone ever got a xeon x3xxx  to run in a non-server board with 'normal' DDR3 RAM?

      Cheers,

          Hello ,

I understand that you want to know if indeed the Intel® Xeon® Processor X3430 is indeed compatible with the Intel(R) Desktop Board DH55TC and if you should use EEC memory or not.

In regards to your inquire, the Intel(R) Xeon® Processor X3430 is indeed compatible with the Intel(R) Desktop Board DH55TC and the ECC memory is a feature not supported fully on this motherboard, but the processor will be able to utilize ECC and non ECC memory. In other words you can use non ECC memory on this specific configuration. If you use this processor on a different motherboard that supports ECC memory then you can use it.

          Regards.
