DX79TO with Xeon 2620, ECC ram not detected

    d.edwards

      Hi there,

I have just got a DX79TO motherboard with a Xeon 2620 and would like to run it with four 8GB sticks of ECC memory.

The memory I currently have is Kingston KVR1333D3Q8R9S/8G (datasheet is here http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KVR1333D3Q8R9S_8G.pdf)

I have updated the BIOS to the latest version (0494) but the board still does not recognise the memory and gives the 3 beeps indicating a memory problem. It boots fine if I use 4GB sticks of non-ecc memory.

Is there anything I need to do to enable ECC memory?

      Thanks

      David
