    C600 Rapid Storage hot-plug

    Brendan Inglese

After installing Intel's Rapid Storage driver and application on my GA-X79-UD7, I've lost the ability to safely eject ( hot plug ) my SATA drives.

I'm looking for the drives in the "Safely Remove and Eject Media" dialog in my tray. It used to be there before I installed IRST.

My C600 controller is in AHCI mode ( even though the IRST app thinks its RAID ) I've dared to just pull out the drive without ejecting it and the OS didn't crash.

Is that's what's intended now? Just remove the drive? Instead of actually manually ejecting it then physically removing it? thanks.
