    do I need vPro?

      Hi all,

for our new school PCs I urgently need a safe method to turn them on remotely (for remote mass OS rollouts with our imaging system). Wake on Lan doesn't work if the whole power in a class room was turned off in the meantime, so I thought of vPro.

But CPUs supporting vPro are quite expensive. So I wonder, whether there is a cheaper solution. I've read about the "Intel Standard Manageability" in Q65 chipset, would this be sufficient for my needs? If not, what do you think would be the cheapest way to achieve this?

Thanks in advance and best regards,
