I have a Lenovo X220 with docking station, a second monitor connected via the VGA, I added another monitor using the USB port, and a DVI to VGA adaptor as recommended: but this monitor is not detected.

OS Windows 7 pro (updated).

Would be grateful for help on how to configure the system to be able to detect third monitor.

thanks

my current card configuration is:

Hi there!

A third monitor with the HD Graphics 3000 is not possible because your graphics controller can support up to two monitors, this means the built in LCD and an additional display.

Video cable adapters are not supported such VGA to DVI cable.

If you are interested in additional information see below

Thanks

Allan.

Hi Allan,

thanks so much for your help and answer.

Surprising, because the Lenovo documentation mentionned it was possible (http://www.partnerinfo.lenovo.com/partners/fr/products/downloads/thinkpad-xseries/Top_Options_ThinkPad_X220.pdf http://www.partnerinfo.lenovo.com/partners/fr/products/downloads/thinkpad-xseries/Top_Options_ThinkPad_X220.pdf page 18 and page 20)

can I change the HD Graphics 3000 to something that would allow connecting more monitors, and what should I get? any input on this would help

again thanks.

Adelaide

Hi adelaideb,

Is your USB-DVI Monitor Adapter for your 3rd adapter plugged into the Docking Station's USB? Or into the laptop's USB slot?
