SS4000E Recovery

My SS4000E personal server crashed and I'm not going to fix it (power source broke), but I was wondering if I can recover the data from the HDDs in an external HDD case? I had RAID 5 + spare set up with 4 500 GB HDDs.

Part of my question is what does the server format the HDDs as when saving in RAID 5 + spare? and is that compatible?

The RAID array can be managed by mdadm. The partition table of data volumes are xfs. For more details, see http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/ss4000-e/sb/cs-029880.htm http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/ss4000-e/sb/cs-029880.htm.
