I have a configuration problem with my Toshiba Satellite L755-S5246 Laptop, which has a Intel HM65 chipset/display card.
My problem Involves the audio configuration of the HDMI Port.
I have been unable to configure the audio to anything other than stereo.
How can I get Hd audio out (Dolby 5.1 surround sound) through the HDMI connection?
Details I have established:
I don't have the option through the playback devices to set the port to 5.1 surround sound.
There is no option to configure the sound to Dolby 5.1 for example:- control panel-> Hardware and Sound → Manage Audio Devices and then clicking configure.
My television (AOC Lcd27ho60) is connected to a Sony home theater system (By optical cable), and it is configured for 5.1 surround sound. I know the set up is right for the television and the home theater system because when I play my Xbox 360 I get high definition audio.
I have tried Intel's scan to locate updates, and it tells me I don't have any supported drivers.
I started a Toshiba Forum Topic In which they suggested I start a topic here.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Laptop model: Satellite L755-S5246
Operating System: Windows 7 Sp1
Audio Driver : (Laptop) CONEXANT Smart-audio Hd
(HDMI) INTEL Display Audio Driver
Television Model: AOC Lcd27ho60
Home theater system: Sony Ht-ddwg700
I recommend getting in contact with Toshiba so; they can check how to configure Dolby 5.1 surround sound in that laptop.
