    Intel i7-2630qm driver update?

    Koekie

      Dear Intel,
      I'm having some problems with my Intel i7 graphic card, when i go to the Intel driver utility it says this;

      Product DetectedIntel® Processor Graphics 3000
      Current Driver Installed8.810.4.1000
A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact yourcomputer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.

Thus, i looked for new drivers from Intel and found one but after installing the error comes: Computer does not meet the minimum requirments for installing the software.
I hope you can help me out.

Some info which may be needfull:

      Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
      Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz, 2001 MHz, 4 core('s), 8 logische processor(s)
      HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
      x64 based PC

          Hi there

The driver version 8.810.4.1000 appears to be compatible for an AMD Radeon graphics card.  Based on your computer specifications, this is a switchable graphics computer. Intel drivers do not work for this type of systems.

If you are interested in additional information about switchable graphics see below:

          Thanks

          Allan.

Hello, i'm not an i7 2nd generation owner but i have an i5 3rd gen 3570 and I had a similar experience with latest graphic drivers in W7 64, i solved with some experiments, try this:

Download the needed drivers (zip version) from intel's page, then unzip in any place you want and open the "graphic" folder inside driver's folder and locate a file *.inf, open it with notepad and search the next lines:

              [Manufacturer]

              %Intel%   = IntelGfx, NTx86.5.1, NTx86.6.0, NTx86.6.2

              [IntelGfx.NTx86.5.1]

              ; no install on XP

              [IntelGfx.NTx86.6.2]

              ; no install on Win8

              [IntelGfx.NTx86.6.0]

Inmediately must be some lines like this (the numbers in each line may differ and may be more lines):

              %iSNBGM1%  = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0106

              %iSNBGD1%  = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0102

              %iSNBGM2%  = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116

              %iSNBGD2%  = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0112

              %iSNBGM2P%  = iSNBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0126

              %iSNBGD2P% = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0122

              %iSNBGD3%  = iSNBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_010A

              %iIVBGD0%       = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0162

              %iIVBGM0%       = iIVBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0166

              %iIVBGD0SRV%    = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_016A

              %iIVBGD0GT1%    = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0152

              %iIVBGM0GT1%    = iIVBM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0156

              %iIVBGD0SRVGT1% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_015A

If your file have semicolon (;) at begining of each line delete it, example:

              Before

              ;%iIVBGD0SRVGT1% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_015A

              After

              %iIVBGD0SRVGT1% = iIVBD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_015A

After that save changes and try to instal using the included setup

              If error persist:

Insert the your mainboar's driver disc and find the correct graphic's driver folder, normally is placed in \Drivers\VGA\Intel\, in that place must be various subfolders, one for each SO, select the one that matches your SO and then open the "Graphics" folder that is inside, find 2 files, the *.inf and other *.cat, then without closing this window go to the downloaded driver folder and find the 2 files with the same extensions, then make a copy of them in the same folder, then rename the copies like the ones in disc folder.

Try to install using setup again.

              Good Look ^_^
