What version are you using?
I have 10.6.0.1002. I click on the "Preferences" button, then choose "E-mail" -- that provides checkboxes to choose what kind of events you want emailed (info, warning, error) as well as smtp / address configuration.
The version is: 10.8.0.1003
The problem is not the version because the same version installed on different computer have settings and in some case not.
I'm very confused.....
Only other idea I have... Are you logged on as administrator in both cases?
According to the documentation, the email feature doesn't show up for standard users.
I have a second system, and was able to duplicate what you are seeing. With same version of RST, the email notification options are displayed when on a Z68 chipset board, but not when running on an older 955x chipset board.
Both the UI and the Help dialogs (!) both "hide" the information about email notifications on one machine, while displaying them on the other.
I cannot find any documentation that would explain this. But it looks intentional -- i.e., like Intel has decided to provide the Email notification function only on certain chipsets / motherboards.
Sorry, that isn't much help -- but at least it shows what you are seeing is not isolated to your one machine.
