I have an Asus N82JV laptop on Windows 7 64bit with switchable graphics, Intel HD and nvidia GT335M. First mistake was trying to update my Intel HD to the latest generic one version 22.214.171.124.2622 here (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20843&ProdId=3231&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers).
After that, Windows goes to a blank screen after boot. Nothing is displayed through the laptop screen, VGA or HDMI ports. The only way I could access it is through the safe mode. I tried reinstalling Intel and nvidia drivers provided by Asus, still the blank screen. Tried installing the latest nvidia driver, also nothing on the laptop screen, VGA or HDMI ports. Updated the bios, still nothing. Asus bios doesn't have any options to change the graphics display either.
Intel Drivers I've tried:
I've tried to manually switch the display using FN+F8, turn on the screen with FN+F7, switch the power management settings, still nothing.
For some reason, Windows didn't create any restore points since I got the laptop 2 years ago. So I'm pretty much stuck here. I've followed most of the solutions found here, most having to do with old drivers from 2010 with outdated links http://communities.intel.com/thread/11878?decorator=print&displayFullThread=true. Recent issues from 2011 onwards went unanswered. Reformatting doesn't seem to solve anything according to the thread. So I'm hoping for better solutions before I do. Thanks!
How about booting in safe mode, and then uninstalling your video drivers, reboot in safe mode (to check if things still work), install the 2622 driver, reboot, see if it works?
Maybe just installing over an old driver doesn't remove all traces of the previous one.
