When you load SCC Linux, do you sometimes see the following error message?

ERROR: Timeout while waiting for Read request answer (CMD=0x7) with TID 13! Cancelling request...

This usually indicates an unstable PCIe connection. The best response is a power cycle, inlcuding the power to the board.

WIth an MCPC/SCC system, we have power to the MCPC itselt (the PC running Ubuntu), the power to the SCC chip (telent to the BMC and issue a power on/off), and power to the SCC board (a switch on the back of the SCC unit, which is also the power to the BMC).

If you are remote and using the web power switch, cycle the power to SCC followed by cycling the power to the MCPC.
