How to disable the optimal resolution being set when loading new graphics drivers

For our HP dc7900 and 8000 Elite model computers we need to downgrade the graphics drivers in order to avoid problems with the MS11-011 patch release and to match our company standard. The graphics driver we are installing is version 6.14.10.5102 for an Intel integrated graphics adapter. The problem is that these machines use a standard screen resolution of 1024x768. When we install this driver it automatically changes the resolution to the "optimal" setting. Is there an installation switch or registry setting that can be used to prevent this from changing the installation?

Thank you

Hi,

In this case the resolution settings is handled by the display driver that interact with the Intel(R) graphics driver to set the resolution requested by the screen.

I recommend you contacting the display manufacturer and check if there is a way to change these settings.

Regards,

Dago MC.
