Can someone provide me with exact steps what is best way to create vlan's on hyper v 2008 r2 server (core).
There is no teaming., drivers are 16.3 package, motherboard is S3000 so it have two nic's.
First nic Pro 1000 PM is configured with prosetcl in trunk mode (have two vlan's) and is dedicated for server management (on both vlan's).
I want second nic, Pro 1000 MT to be dedicated for Hyper-V (for VM's).
I've added PRO 1000 MT nic2 as external in Hyper V Virtual Network Manager. Then on VM I've checked up box for VLAN and entered VLAN ID. When I've fire up VM there is no network connectivity.
I've removed NIC2 from Hyper V virtual network manager.
My goal is to have same situation when NIC's are teamed, and then teamed virtual adapter is configured in hyper-v virtual network manager and vlan id's are assigned in virtual machine network configuration.
Is it only way to create VLAN's on NIC2 using prosetcl and then every virtual vlan nic add and configure in hyper-v virtual network manager ?
Or should I only enable ANS on NIC2 (how ?? using nvspbind ? ) and then configure in hyper v virtual network manager ?
When I check status of nic's and protocols with nvspbind I've get:
"nic2 pro 1000 mt":
disabled: ms_netbios (NetBIOS Interface)
enabled: ms_netbios (NetBIOS Interface)
disabled: ms_server (File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks)
enabled: ms_server (File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks)
enabled: ms_pacer (QoS Packet Scheduler)
disabled: ms_msclient (Client for Microsoft Networks)
enabled: ms_msclient (Client for Microsoft Networks)
enabled: ms_tcpip (Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4))
enabled: ms_tcpip6 (Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6))
enabled: ms_rspndr (Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder)
enabled: ms_lltdio (Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper I/O Driver)
disabled: vms_pp (Microsoft Virtual Network Switch Protocol)
disabled: ms_netbt (WINS Client(TCP/IP) Protocol)
enabled: ms_netbt (WINS Client(TCP/IP) Protocol)
disabled: ms_smb (Microsoft NetbiosSmb)
enabled: ms_smb (Microsoft NetbiosSmb)
disabled: iansprotocol (Intel(R) Advanced Network Services Protocol)
Same is with, vms_pp, nic1, and with virtual nic's - vlan's make onto trunk for nic1 with difference that iansprotocol is enabled.
Thank you for any response
