Intel smart response technology - disabling itself

I have a Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3 motherboard and have linked a OCZ agility 3 60GB SSD to a Western digital 2TB green driveit for the Smart responsetechnology, however it keeps on disabling itself.

When i boot up the computer it shows the SRT raid volume as Disabled in yellow writing,

This is backed up when i open the intel RST program in windows,  which shows the accellerated device as "inaccessable"

why is it doing this and how do i fix it so that the SSD i paid for isnt a waste of money!
