3tb (and above) hardware raid on ICH10R

    joew

I have an ICH10R p45 board with 6 Sata ports on intel and 2 on JBOD.

Question is can I setup up the OS as raid0 on the JBOD, create a 2tb raid10 on 4 intel sockets then expand to 3tb raid10 using the intel software using GPT from within windows?

          Hello,

If the operating system is going to be installed into a separate controller, then you can actually create a 3 TB RAID 10 using Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology from the begining (so expanding will not be required). The 2 TB limitation will be just for bootable units, and on this case the bootable unit will be what you created in the JBOD array.
