    Z68 PCI sound card issues

    sniperdude

upgraded to intel 2500k and a Z68 motherboard now my PCI sound blaster audigy 2 sound card will no longer work correctly

the card wont play sound at anything more than 16bit 48000hz and even this crackles and pops (the sound card is capable of 24bit 192000hz)

it worked fine with my old p35 chipset motherboard and Q6600 CPU under window 7 32bit

I have tried windows 7 64bit and 32bit both give the same bad results on this z68 board

Also i have just noticed that when the card is installed this dissapears from the device manager

"intel 6 Series /C200 chipset thermal control 1C24"

I have also just retested the card in a AMD system and it worked perfectly

          • 2. PCI issue at all ??!!

I do own a H67 motherboard and have the same effects with 2 tv-cards as well with 1 NIC

it might rely on energy settings ??!!

            especially on tv-card:

signals are lost at first, then the card is AT LEAST deaktivated in devicemanager

then only to be seen with "view disabled devices"

sometimes th "reactivation" of disabled devices are doing immediate "BSOD"

with -my UEFI Bios some remarkabe reboot reactions are the next

EVEN my Realtec 8169 PCI is doing the same in some cases
