Interesting question. I can't say I have ever try this, but The "Source" of the best information is the products TPS (Technicial Product Specification) http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s1200kp/sb/480536_g38894_001_s1200kp_tps_r1_0.pdf
Which sure seems to say headless is OK in section 3.7.3
3.7.3 Booting Without Attached Devices
For use in embedded applications, the BIOS has been designed so that after passing the
POST, the operating system loader is invoked even if the following devices are not present:
- Video adapter
Reading a bit futher you may get a front pannel LED warning (section 4.3) and a beep code (section 4,2) but system should continue to boot.
turns out. it is not working.
There is an options trun off graphic card options disabled. but not for the graphic card check but for cmos boot splash graphic mode to text mode.
could I ask intel server board team, that this option should be available for suit its name 'embedded board'?
then where could I do that?
thank you for your reply.
