    Smart Cache Question

    CenturyChild

      Hello everyone.

Apologies if this has been answered somewhere else, but i was unable to locate a answer, and am only vaguely familiar with SSD cache.

I will soon be getting a new Z68 board and have been unable to find a definitive answer to a question.

Basically what I want to do is install Windows on a 80GB Intel SSD, and use a secondary SSD as a cache drive for a mechanical drive.

      Specifically:

I have a second (30GB SSD) &  WD Black HD, that is solely dedicated to Steam, and has many games on it.

      Is it possible:

To use the 80GB Intel SSD as a Boot/OS drive

      &

Set the small secondary 30GB SSD as a cache device for the 2TB WD Black Game drive?

Or is there any benefit doing on a drive that only has games?

Will it interfer with the boot SSD?

I have 2 other mechanical drives as well, but just want them to run normally.

      Thanks.
